Hi

I'm taking a ferry overnight from Patras to Bari while I'm travelling and I was just wondering if anyone can tell me whats its like? Do they have couchettes or sleeperettes?

Thanks.

I have done this trip, and was surprised at the high quality of the ferry. I was expecting an old tug boat that had been done up, but the boat was quite new and the facilities were of a high standard.

As for sleeping arrangements, you can either sleep in your chair or take a cabin. We had a cabin and it was definitely worth the extra money.

I had a sleeper chair when I went and I ended up sleeping on the floor in front of the chair because it was pretty uncomfortable. I saw a lot of people sleeping on the top floor which looks like a small, empty swimming pool.
If you have the money I would recommend a cabin just to be able to rest.

I did in the summer of 2004 almost the same travel. I travelled from Bari to Patras and on my way back from Patras to Ancona.

Allthough some people did not like to sleep on deck I had a great time. With all people on deck it is allways happy time. The beer on board tasted very good
