Anyone who is in uni, recently graduated, or in graduate school, post here. Interested in where everyone is and their post uni plans...
I'm in my final year of uni in Washington DC and am traveling this summer (unsure of where as of yet) then off to either graduate school or traveling for the year.
I'm very lucky, studying my way around the world. I've completed a B.A. in North American Studies, Latin American Studies and Art History in Berlin/Germany, then studied a semester in Madrid/Spain and now got a scholarship to do a postgrad in Melbourne for a year ! Of course I hope I'll have some time to travel around Australia during my stay here .
I'm at Manchester doing Biological sciences...2nd year cos I had a few too many gap years
Don't really know where I'm going with it but they're taking me to Ecuador and Galapagos for 500 quid (GBP) so whos arguing right??
I am just about to graduate in June....My feet were too itchy last year so I defered my final year, spent the time interning abroad as well as doing some amazing travel!!Came back felt totally motivated and very inspired and now Im happily enjoying really pushing myself this last year!!!!Best decision I ever made!!!Now My plans are to finish in June, Just booked up a trip which takes me India then back to south east asia, taking in Vietnam and Cambodia...I figure I really deserve a big trip to reward myself of my hard work these past few years!
Then Im just going to do some hardcore temping to get some money together for a few months before either a)moving to new york to follow up a job offer or b)teach english in south korea for a year!!!Got 2 job offers in New York after interning over here last year which is what I really want to do eventually but the debate is how much do i want to be finacially stable before i go???if i teach for a year ill be set up moneywise to head across to NY!!!!So only time will tell!!!!!
I'm in Manchester (well I started in UMIST), just coming to the end of my MEng degree in Electronic and Microelectronic Systems engineering. Four years in Manchester as a student is enough for anyone! I've had the best time of my life, made some really good mates, but alas, these things come to an end. I cant face the world of work yet so I'm going travelling after I graduate in July for 9-12 months. My route is still under construction, and trying to get my head round it all seems to be more of a head blag than the discrete Fourier Transform (dont ask, need to start revising this! ).....
@mimulus: I've got a friend who just graduated from your course last year
Im in my final year of uni too, woo!! Studying at Durham University in the UK. Not really sure what career path to take so going to work in the area im interested in at the moment, PR, to get some pennies before travelling. Planning to go to Australia and New Zeland end of January next year sooooo cant wait to go!!
Hi, I still count myself as recently graduated, though it was last summer (2005), I'm like the youngest in the year though and didn't have a gap year before uni, so i figure I have lots of extra time before I decide on a 'real' job or anything!
I'm off to america to work at a summer camp in may and then in november hopefully off to South Korea for a year teaching English. Anyone else doing anything like that? I think Twinkle said she was going to Korea?
I realize that I am a few days late on making this comment...
The "bumping" of threads, to place it back at the top of a forum, is frowned upon at Travellerpoint. We realize that other forum sites allow this to happen, but we prefer that it does not happen here. Though there is no concrete rule about such postings, it does fall under the catagory of "bad manners". If you have something to add to the conversation, by all means post it and the thread will move up in rank. If not, please refrain from "bumping" it again, as that post will be deleted. Thank you.
I'm in my final year at Cardiff Uni studying for my degree in Journalism, Film and Broadcasting, and am dreading leaving this summer - I enjoy being a student too much! No concrete plans yet for next year, although I want to do a masters degree at some point and get some travelling done sometime too
