nickraus has indicated that this thread is about USA

My brother and I want to plan a road trip during my spring break, only one week. I am from atlana, georgia. Any suggestions on where and how far to travel. Do you think it would be a better idea to drive maybe one or two days straight and stopping, or driving a little here and there, and stopping at several spots.

Also does anyone know of anything thats going on around the States during the week of march 13-17 2006? I know sxsw in texas, but any other happening might be a great starting off point

thanks!

March 17th is St. Patrick's Day. Might be a good time to be in either Boston or Chicago, both of which would be good parties.

Chicago really does rock on Saint Paddy's Day. They dye the river and the beer green, party most of the day and night, and even take time to have a parade. Chicago is a great city to visit for many other reasons too.

If you decide to head this way, we'll post some links to things "to do" in Chicago. ;)

I don't know, man. During March - I would be heading south unless you head straight up to Boston for St. Patty's but - thats at the end of your trip. Head south for the warmer weather. I have no idea what to do in Fla., though.

Maybe go and do a little alligator wrestling? Wait - when is Fat Tuesday's in New Orleans and all that. Isn't something going on around there? I think its in March. http://www.neworleanscvb.com/calendar/index.cfm/cdate/3-12-2006/

This has a list of a couple of things to do. Have fun wherever you go!

If you want to make Mardi Gras in New Orleans - you'd better hurry!!! Fat Tuesday is February 28, 2006 - that's next Tuesday...

(Figuring out Fat Tuesday: Check your calander for Easter Sunday. Count beackwards 40 days NOT including Sundays. That will give you the date for Mardi Gras for any given year. Or, just look at the calander for Ash Wednesday - Fat Tuesday is always the day before Ash Wednesday.)

Chicago... Chilly but fun!!!!

IronChef just moved this past summer from New England to California... How quickly they acclimate to sunshine and beaches...

A friend and I are taking a trip to N. Carolina in March. This is right on our way and we may never leave - until we're rich!

Go to San Fransisco, rent a car and drive to Yosemite National Pk. A great road trip. You can spend a couple of days in San Fran on either end of the trip!

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

One word: CHICAGO

(Okay, so I'm biased... I lived there and still visit about 12-15 times a year.) ;)
