The goverment of Indi has taken massive steps to check Bird Flu.
Besides : Bird Flu is transmitted only if yo get into direct contact or eat poultry (read chiken )products.
Avoid Chicken/eggs.

I was in Delhi a few weeks ago and bird flu should not be a should steer clear of poultry anyway though as every single time one of our group ordered it the result was the same. We were served half cooked chicken. The risk is not bird flu but selmonella!

I think that now, after a cat was infected with (bird?) flu, you have to be careful with handling ANY bird and ANY other wild animal...

I have just returned from 3 weeks in Thailand and Cambodia, both countries with human bird flu cases. The bird flu is not really a big problem until it mutates to allow human to human transmission. That may have happened yesterday or 15 years from now or never. If we wait till travel until this resolves we may never go anywhere. I reccommed just reading some precautionary things and then following those recs. when abroad. Good luck and have a great trip.
