I love Trailer Park in New York.....Im a fan of 93 Feet East here in London, its one of my favourites.....I would say Twin Farms up north but having worked there way too long, Ive had enough of the whole Olde Worlde thing as nice as a roaring log fire is....
As for local comforts I love the John Lyon just round the corner from me, 2 minutes stroll and the most divine veggie burger....I love lazy sundays in there with a nice drink!!!

I don't have a favourite, but my boss and colleagues like frequenting "Excalibur", "Anywhere" and "The Yard".

My local used to be "The Ball" in Crookes, Sheffield.

I've always liked The Forum in Sheffield City Centre, nice mix, cool with good music etc, but not so pretentiously ultra-trendy that you feel scabby for wearing cheap clothes and not being able to carry off skinny jeans. Best on a week night.

To be honest, everything has probably changed since I went away. city centres in this country change their bars like socks.

What is it about your favourite bars/pubs that you like, and what do you think makes the perfect one for you??

All the bars l frequent are really boring names : Robinsons; The Crown; Apartment!

There is Bar Bacca - based around an Asia Buddist theme! Irene & Nans - based on some ones livingroom with an awful lot of clocks or The Pothouse - which has a glass floor so diners in the restaurant below can look up your skirt if you are mad enough to wear one!!

One of my favorites, so far here in SF:

Butter - pretty cool inside with a dj spinning behind the bar and a really cool/hip interior

Edinburgh Castle - in SF - is pretty cool, also

Raleigh's - in Berkeley - pretty good pub food

Uptown - in Oakland - just found it 2 days ago - beautiful bar and they have live music a couple times a week. This might turn out to be a great local bar. Already got to know a bartender and the owner. Always remember to tip your bartender well - they'll remember you next time!

My favourite locals are:

Robin Hood (which is in fact a charity pub)
The Farm
The Biscuit Factory

Came across a bar in Riga called Mr John Lemon, that's my favourite at the moment!!
