I was delayed in Italy on Lufthansa which caused me to miss my connection in Frankfurt to Toronto.
They rerouted me Frankfurt to London and London to Toronto, arriving 7.5 hours late.
Under the new delayed flight rules in Europe does anyone know if I am entitled to compensation.
I am not sure if you'd be entitled to something if they've done their best to get you to your destination, but someone recently posted what they had learned regarding the regulations in this thread.
Bummer on the delay.
If you are going to put in a complaint, do it in writing (not e-mail or phone). Save a copy and leave the ending open, (something like: I look forward to your response in regard to this matter)don't put what you want as they may offer more. If the first offer of compensation is not to your satisfaction you can always reject it stating that your inconvenience was greater the the compensation offer was worth.
Good luck, it worked for a friend of mine.
to SAM IAM:
Thanks so much for the rules of EU airliens. I supose it should be known to all EU citizens and should be given wide coverage! No airlines company and no travel agent will educate the passengers and would rather keep mum.
