So guys I need some good old tp support,

there's this guy that I've liked for far too long and he's coming up to Manchester to do a training course,

now its up to me to plan a night out for monday that will
a)impress b) avoid any awkward silences and c)make me look good (and not eager) ;)

We're both a lot into music unfortunately all the good gigs are sold out...

I've been trying to think of something cool and spontaneous to do but have totally hit an ideas wall...

p.s getting him drunk is a given so there's no need to suggest that

The way to a mans heart is through his stomach. Or so they say.

Mind you, I've been single for two years, so perhaps my advice ain't the best.

Awwwww this is so exciting!!!!!!!!The big night is tonight!!!!I say depending on how well you know this guy, avoid the food thing...I always find it a bit too formal for a first date to be sitting down to considering you have liked him so long, youre bound to be nervous so its best to go somewhere super relaxed with a good atmosphere....pick somewhere with decent music....not too loud so you can still talk and not too quiet so then it can cover up any awkward silences!!!!
Dress yo impress but still to the point your still kinda casual so you dont look like you have tried too hard!!!!!And dont get too drunk....bad move for a first date, totally sets the precident for the relationship if thats what it all evolves into!!!!
Be yourself and have fun!!And give us all the gossip tomorrow!!!!!

Invite him in for a drink, get him just drunk enough to be agreeable, hand-cuff him to the bed, cover him in whipped cream, chocolate sauce and strawberries (feed him a few while you're at it), have your way with him (wear him out), make breakfast for him in the morning (with mimosas), and feed him the breakfast. After that, it might be safe to remove the hand-cuffs...

Too over-the-top???

I always assume uncomfortable silences are comfortable. My b/f tells me that when we met, and we had moments of silence, he wondered if I was bored or uninterested - when, in fact, I was thoroughly enjoying just walking along. Maybe I'm in the minority...?

There must be something else you can do that involves music... any small clubs that have live bands? Or an outdoor venue? If you play guitar you can always serenade him...
