seems to have worked! :)
Just need to get the sizing right and get rid of text that's left from the template

You can play with CSS for hours, but the end result can be wicked! For example, in Peter's blog and click on say the Canada category, you'll notice the header change. I think Peter has uploaded a different header per country and just calls a different one depending on which country is being viewed.

Peter, you should do a 'how to' on how you did that :)

And yes, I've been a lazy bugger and just chosen one of the pre-designed templates, but they're just so nice

Nice!
Have been deleting various bits of code, but still fail to get rid of the Blog title & description text from the header. Any pointers?

Which header text; the bit that says "Summer and Snow
A quick tour of New Zealand, then hot-tubs & Canadian powder"

That is part of your general blog settings and you can just change the text there. The CSS is really the styling only (not any content).

You can hide them with the following code:

  1. header h1 {

display:none;
}

  1. header p {

display:none;
}

Pretty sure that will work without trouble.

Sander, 5th Mar '06, 10:58, says:

You can do that by going to "Template -> Edit your Template" and changing the line that says "background: #ddd url(img/4/bg-body.gif);" (in the "body {" block, near the top).

For those, like me who are using the "Travel Blog" template and are having trouble finding the -> Edit your Template link:

1. Go to "Control Panel"
2. Click on "Manage Your Blogs"
3. Click on the "Manage" link of the blog you want to edit the template for
4. Now click on the "TEMPLATE" link in the nav bar at the top, this will give you the CSS to edit!
