Ok ok ok, this couldn't have kicked me in the rear harder than I'm coming to realization that Rome will be populated by people during this Easter holiday. I have always thought people would be home with their families and hotels will be cheap and available. I know I know...

My wife and I were searching online through the many venues available in travellerspoint and cross-pollinate and wherever else, Amanecer or anyone else can recommend good locations in Rome.

I'm looking at the pictures and prices, however, I don't know the relative distances between everything in Rome.

Single, Double, apartments and bed and breakfasts accomodations oh my! Private baths versus shared baths...sheesh.

Any tips and locations of what to stay out of? Bad part of town perhaps? etc...

How about the locations in the Vatican city itself? Please anyone....we need to book.

Thanks as always.

We have booked an appartment near San Pietro Station Via del Gallo Terrione. That's about 15 minutes walk from the Vatican.
This location suits us as we believe it will be a quieter area away from the bustling centre or the Termini station area. But, it's probably not real central to Old Rome if that's where you prefer.

We will walk & use public transport during our week in Rome. We got our through www.cross-pollinate.com at 85Euro per night.

Wow, a lot can be learned from cross referencing hotel locations with the map of rome. LOL. We finally booked our room near the termini. Hopefully this is a good hotel.
