Hi Dannybyrne,

I live nearby. Coogees a great beach, not to far from the city, plenty of cheap eats, good pubs. The hostels clean and friendly; about $22 - $25 a night that time of year. A company called Oz Intro use it. I think their package seems ok. A little expensive at about $800 Aussie dollars. Septembers not a great time to be at the beach though.

I'm living in coogee at the mo and it is a great lil place, and like majito said its not far from the city centre and buses run all night!-bonus!

I'm actually living in one of the flats but ive heard backpackers is supposed to be good, i'd go for it if i were you.

I used to live in Coogee and will second what was said above. Great little place. Ah, memories coming back of toss the boss in the Palace on Wednesday nights.....

Isn't surfside the one above mac donalds looking out over the beach? Top location, but you really can't go very wrong in the other coogee hostels either as they're all very close to everything.

Im staying in Coogee right now, but i have free accomm here so not at the backpackers...but I have seen it and it always looks busy - lots of towels hanging over the railings from all the rooms. Its across the road from the beach too. Prime location!

Coogee is a sweet beach too, more character than say Bondi, plus there are plenty places to eat and drink, with Woolworth supermarket up the street too. Buses to city and other places such as Bondi junction (for shopping) and also there is the number 400 bus that goes from the airport to Randwick (Belmore/Alison road) for approx $3.80 which should save you unnecessary taxi costs. Randwick sooo close to Coogee...

I walked past that place last night The Surfside Bacpackers above McDonalds on Arden Street. It was a Monday night and that place had a great vibe from what I could hear from the street.

Hey Clanger

Fancy catching up? I live not too far away from you in Bondi.

For a description of me check out my post under your thread for meeting older men in the General talk section.

See ya at the Palace or the Coogee Bay one of these nights I go to these bars/clubs very frequently.
