I just have a quick question... when you're booking a couple nights in hostels in Scotland, do you have to put a down payment of sorts on it or can you just pay it all upon arrival? I'm just really confused about all this, seeing as how I've never done it before lol

Thanks in advance for any kind of help!

from my experience lately - u need to pay in advance - but it really depends on the hostel

If you book online through the websites of the SYHA or, you have to pay the entire amount due at once in advance. You need a credit card, too. Good luck! :)

those sites such as are crap! they markup prices and buy up beds and then tell you they are booked even if the hostel does have beds available. And they charge a fee for booking!!! uh??

Ur best option is to use these sites to find the hostels then google on their name and book direct.
