Well, the MBK stores sure would be one of the first places to get it. Maybe you just need to wait a week or two. Have you asked in any of the stores?

Hi All,

I'm travellng from Ireland to Bangkok via Singapore and I looking to buy a Canon IXUS 800 IS. Can you please advise where would be the best place to get one and what prices I'd be looking at?

Any help would be appreciated!! ;)

Visit the stores in the MBX complex. You'll find your camera no doubt, and after a day's stroll you'll find it cheap ;)

I think that if you are looking for Digital camera shops in Bangkok, you should head off to MBK, you'll find what you are after. Alternatively, head off to Pantip Plaza or Fortune Town ( Arcade ) which is at Rama 9 if using the underground system. Both of these places have a few camera shops selling digital SLRs and digital point and shoots.
I think that these three places are the best for groupings of camera shops, but you could also try Central Rama 3 which has a few.

[ Edit: Sorry, no promos please. ]

Interesting comments. I am planning to buy a D80 or D90 at the end of the month. But as I may be in Singapore or Bangkok nexy year and looking at the prices on the site's they are alot cheaper, around £300ish. I have bought a camera in Bangkok before and saved a very tidy sum by doing so, just gota watch out for the dodgy memo cards.
