I have a friend trying to get in the USA for a wedding with a GBA conviction. He was told to apply for the neccessary paperwork thorugh the British Embassy. It turns out this will not come through in time. Should he risk coming over or not, and would this conviction really restrict entry??
I don't mean to sound uninformed... But what, exactly, is a GBH/GBA conviction? Knowing that will help us (who live in the US) give the correct information. Thanks!

GBH is Grievous Bodily Harm. It may be seen as assault in the U.S. and A.
Dazman, I would tell your friend not to risk it as getting booted out of the US ain't gonna be a barrel of laughs. In fact the only barrel he will see is probably the one of the gun pointed in his face knowing the states.
