Lima - Huancayo train journey

Hi everybody,

I'm going to Peru in September and would like to take Lima - Huancayo train journey while I'm there.

Does anybody knows if the ticket needs to be booked well in advance? Did anybody took this train before? Any comments?

Any recommendations of accommodation in Huancayo?

I will appreciate any advice as this will be my first trip to South America. Thanks a lot.

i have a feeling this route doesn't run for passengers... You should look back in previous posts, i read something about it recently.
