I recently travelled through South America. Before I left I invested in some women's hiking/trail shoes: Lowa Renegade II GTX Lo.
I have to say they were the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn - supportive, lightweight, breathable and waterproof Goretex uppers - they were perfect for day hikes, walking throgh city streets, sightseeing, etc. I really recommend that you make the effort to buy some comfortable travel shoes - it will make all the difference to your trip!

Can anyone else recommend comfortable travel shoes?

Peace,
Melanie

Wore Merrell shoes, can't remember what they were called but were very comfortable and have still not fallen to pieces despite severe punishment.

I have Salamon cushioned trainers for hiking, and my comfy Merrel ladies sandals where the backs can be removed to make slip ons. I have been really happy with these two throughout my entire journey.

I had Teva sandals that were amazingly comfy.

I tie kittens to my feet. Not only are they cottony soft, but their yelps of pain comfort my black, dark, evil soul.
