davert has indicated that this thread is about England

Hello,

My names Dave and for the past 22/23 years I have lived in England. Been in education for the majority and am ready to try something different. At the moment I am saving up some hard earned cash to blow it on visiting places I have always wished I could. The plan is to set off in September and visit South Africa, Austrailia, New Zealand, Fiji and the west and east coasts of America. Time scale is a year and everyone tells me I will love it. Is this true????

Any tips would be grateful. My tip to others is that flights are cheapest the end of August and the start of September. Thats why I'm going then - a true student at heart!!!!!!!!!

Whoever this reaches, I hope that you are well and If anyone is setting out the same time as myself and want to hook up, that would be cool.

All the best, Have Fun

Dave from England

Once you firm up your dates let us all know. I'd be happy to meet up with you if you come to NYC.

I think you will have a great time. That is to say that I always do, to the point that I prefer shoestring travelling as opposed to living it up at home. Sadly though I am currently working for a living until I have enough saved up to take a major trip again. :(

Regards,
Ian

davert; sounds like a dope travel plan.
I'm the same age and am really feeling like hitting the road.
I'm curious what it would cost for a trip like yours. How much have you saved and how much do you project to spend?
Many times I like to travel(locally, few hundred miles from home) with little cash and wing it. Its fun and exciting.
But A trip of that caliber must be planned a little more in advance. I will probably start planning and saving for one pretty soon. Until then have fun and don't think of us miserable souls at home just enjoy every minute.
