Hi, I'm just after booking with ozintro.com for July 17th. I've been dealing with a girl who works there called Lucy for the last couple of weeks and she has just been so helpful and taken alot of the stress and worry out of the trip for me after speaking with her. I would definately recommend them. As I'm travelling on my own, the main thing for me is just getting to know people once I get there as well, and have the hassle taken out of it for me so I'm free to relax and enjoy myself once I arrive there.

I'm thinking of booking with them for 16th October too depending on how long I spend in Asia and New Zealand first. Might see you in Sydney!

I did Ozintro and it was fantastic! I met my now best mate who I am travelling with, and did so much stuff for the money I paid. Although, yeah you could do some stuff for yourself, I was so glad to not have any hassle (phone, bank, medicare etc) I was scared enough about being in Oz.
I met loads of nice people and had a wicked week (plus surfside was the party hostel of Sydney)

Hi travellers

Can anyone who has done the Oz Intro week (or anyone else!!!) help me about my mobile?!!!

Oz Intro provide an Australian Sim Card but I don't know whether:-

(a) It will work in my mobile which is on Virgin Network

(b) If I buy a cheap Vodafone mobile here before I go, will it
work on that

(c) Is it easier/cheaper to buy a mobile in Oz when I get there on
vodafone network

I have asked in mobile shops but nobody seems to understand me (perhaps its me!!!!).

Any advice would be gratefully received!

Thanks, Cez x

Hiya Cez, Im also on OzIntro - arriving 19th June!

I also have the same problem with my phone which is with O2; the best thing to do is get it unlocked so that you can use your phone with any network. I think your phone must also be a dual band phone to work in Oz so check that it is. You should be able ask a mobile phone shop to unlock it, or where I live where we have markets nearby theres always someone there with a stall who sells phone covers etc and also unlocks phones for you and thats where I got mine done (costs about £10 to do). Hope that helps,
Stace

hey

I am going to Oz in november and have booked through Ozintro..

I have booked the flights and fly out on the 4th nov. I am going on my own and really did not know what to do etc. They arrange everything for you and take the hassle out of doing it yourself, and what a great way to meet people who are also out there. the staff are really friendly, why dont you give them a call and have a chat with them.
