I would just like to add that if anyone else has futher questions about me asking questions about OzIntro, then please feel free to do so! I won't shy away from them.

If the Admin (Sam I Am) who posted earlier would like to email me in regards to my questions, or to know more about me then he can. As an Admin you would have access to my email account.

If Michael from OzIntro wants to enquire about me, I have already invited him to do so via sending me a pm.

Please note, however, I'll be away the next few days so if I don't answer for a little while (before next week) you know why.

We rarely email members (unless they email us first :) ) for privacy reasons, but I could of course send you a PM . It's not the kind of postings I feel warrant this though (all seems above board and in all your posts there is a general objectivity except for maybe promoting TCP a little more than the others, but this could just be due to personal preferences, not necessarily promo'ing). There's nothing that I could find that indicates a tie in with one of these organizations and that is as far as I can assess. From a personal point of view, I'd like to see it discussed in the forum rather than in private messages, just so potential clients have the full picture as well....

I'm sure oz intro will be answering several of your questions, as they watch this thread pretty closely.

Thanks for that. Yes, TCP is from personal experience - I did use their services when I was on a working holiday in Australia. During that time I also worked for IEP, and so have quite a bit of knowledge about them too (and their UK owners BUNAC).

Although I have experience of those 2 organisations, my aim is to remain objective on any organisation I come across that do similar things. I would not promote IEP or TCP, for example, in particular cases if I didn't think it would suit that person. Therefore, a wider knowledge of such organisations involved in backpacker hosting is required by me!

Interesting; when did you work for IEP? I worked for them during 2000/2001 :)

1999/2000 - I'll PM you regarding it!

I'm happy to hear that the keen interest in OzIntro is based on a desire to promote us, and not an attempt to discredit us!

To answer these new questions..

We are registered as a ‘business’, but will often use the word ‘company’ as this is a common term that people use to refer to OzIntro.

We have already submitted our notification with the Information Commissioners Office to be a Registered Data Controller and it is in the process of being approved.

And with regards to GST registration, our financial matters are (of course) our own businsess. But I can tell you that because we receive payment in the UK we have not had to register for GST in Australia yet.

Thank you again for the interest. We trust we have answered all of the questions.

If anybody would like even more detailed information about what we do, just ask. We’re happy to hear from you. Or just check out our website at www.ozintro.com

Kind regards,
Michael

It has been pointed out to me in this thread that the results of me asking questions about Oz Intro may not be clear.

So please do read that thread for this, and also I will say now that please don't worry if you have booked through Oz Intro, or have been considering it.

If you believe the services Oz Intro provide are for you - then go for it! Enjoy yourself in Australia, and I'm sure you'll have a good first week with Oz Intro as well! :)
