Hello! My family and I have been looking for a place to visit in Mexico. We don't know much about it since none have us have ever visited it. We have been looking at Cabo San Lucas, Cancun, Cozumel, and open for more options. We are more of the "party, fun, adventurous type" my we have an 11 year old boy, 14 year old girl, and two adults. We are looking for water and other activities, such as snorkelling, parasailing, banana boating, etc. All-inclusive would also be very nice. We are looking to go somwhere bewteen April 15th-23th for maybe 5-7 days. Any suggestions? Words of advice? Anything would be helpful!
If you went to Cozumel, you should go back for scuba diving. Its the best and your kids would love it!!! There are few places that I suggest www.hotelvistadelmar.com and www.haciendasanmiguel.com.
Also check www.visitingmexico.com.mx
Cozumel might be a little limited, you can try staying at Playa del carmen, or along the Riviera Maya (coast infront of Cozumel), and have a day pass for Cozumel, if you stay at an all inclusive one, most of these have another hotel in Cozumel or Cancun, so it is easier for you to transport, since you will be taking the ferry to cross every time, while inland you will be more free to go anywhere.
Cancun is also good, but that is really full in those days, especially due to Springbreakers ( a total mess) The riviera maya is quieter, in those days for sb. prefer cancun rather than these other two places.
try the riu hotels, they have websites.
or iberostar hotels
or allegro hotels too
We were first-timers last week, and found Puerto Vallarta wonderful. The best restaurant in town is at the marina. It's a tapas bar called the Gazebo. Not expensive, and the food, service, and presentation is equal to the best restaurants in Paris or New York!
Many ppl say once you go to Puerto Vallarta you will fall in love with it and keep returning. This is what happened to me. The service is imaculate!!! friendly ppl all round and LOVE the MALECON
this is like the "board walk" many restaurants, shopping and at night the city gets going!!!
Ive been to Cancun as well ( well 10 min away from Playa del carmen)
IF you stay near playa del carmen NOTE that if you want to go into the hotel zone or downtown this will take 40 min!!!!
quite far. I would def recommend renting a car at the airport as many others do its about $380 CAD per week, not bad.
I loved the cove swimming at Xcarlet ! amazing place!! one of the those parrots ripped off my hat!! BEWARE hehe
XCARELET includes Diving in the coves, and a VERYYY yummy buffet, around 75$CAD sorry many other things incl. cant rememeber look it up if interested.
