I can officially join in now:
I miss Dairy free Hokey Pokey flavour ice cream from New Zealand
I miss Jackfruit from SE Asia (big time)
I miss my suntan, its almost faded away to nothing!
I miss the smiley happy faces and the hello's from strangers
I miss the cheap bill from the supermarket
I miss the warmth, even though its May in the UK
But now Im home, I miss the waistline that I had 10 months ago, who said you lose weight when travelling? Obviously not a food lover.....

I can't find the carefree lifestyle. It went missing since I got back.
I've just found this interesting post today and thought I'll tell you what I miss most from overseas:
1.) the beach, being able to hop in the car and be there in 40min
2.) Starbucks- my Chai Latte (can u believe it, that there are only 2 Starbucks Cafes in Austria, far away from the city where I live?)
3.) the open minded people(the mix of cultures)
4.) good, big and cheap sushi
5.) the social life we had, incl.BBQs
6.) Cheesecake, NZ ice cream
7.) going away for weekends, explorin new places
8.) having a nice big house to live in without paying a lot of rent
I guess I could add a few more things, but the first 3 might b the most important anway...
From Singapore I miss kaya and guava juice. I also miss the easy ways there were to get around and the relaxed nature of the city.
From Malaysia, having western style food in a restaraunt built like a ship, strolling along the night market on the streets of Batu Ferringhi.
From Australia, barramundi fish, the weather, the australian people and the scenery
From New Zealand, the climate and green countryside(this is the most 'home-like' country I have yet been in), the scenery and the people.
Some of these are memories rather than physical things but memories are the best things about holidays
I notice, that there are now a lot of import stores.
It used to be, that certain things were only available in certain parts of the world.
I like to cook. In Munich, where I live, there are not only German supermarkets. There are also Turkish ones, Chinese ones, Thai ones, Indian ones, Afganistani ones etc.
I miss the lovely fresh sushi that I used to eat in Auckland all the time.
i spent 6 months in barcelona and then came back for holidays.. the things i miss from there won't fit on this page, i'm sure, but the most important are:
1. The Camp Nou. Miss it terribly, already planning another trip there!
2. The market: those really yummy fruit juices.
3. The atmosphere at night: how everyone (no matter the age) were enjoying a night out with friends and family. And everybody so relaxed!
4. The falafels
5. The gothic quarter.. dark and beautiful, just love it
6. Do i need to say the open mind?
7. The incredibly great chorizos
8. The design stores
9. The subway.. yes, it's quite dirty for my standards, but it takes you everywhere.
10. The train road from Barcelona to tarragona: almost inside the mediterranian sea
11. How could i forgot!! the jewelries!! specially those owned by young designers.. (expensive but really really original)
Have to add:
Subway (it was so nice to have a 'healthy option') and they are sooo yummy!
Definitely miss the backpacking lifestyle...
The rush hours of driving from one place to another...
Checking in and out of hostels at different locations...
Thinking of nothing else but only the subsequent destination.
Just being carefree and no worries..
I really miss those moments!
