Does going to Hong Kong require a separate Visa? If so is it easy to get, and does that count as leaving China (and thus requiring a double entry Visa for China?)

Worked out everything for my world trip except the Chinese Visa so far.

Very, very few people require a visa for Hong Kong. Doubt Aussie's do.

Yes, it does count as leaving China, so if you intend to return there, you eiterh need a double entry visa, or alternatively buy a new visa in Hong Kong. Dead easy (from agencies, CITS or most hotels/hostels) and in general the cheapest Chinese visa's around.

On an Aussie passport you don't need a visa for Hong Kong but you do need one for Mainland China.
Yes it does count as leaving China when you go into Hong Kong.

When are you going ? I have been 6 times and love it. What are your plans while there ?

I haven't got an exact date, but it'll be somewhere in July this year.

I've planned my trip, but haven't added any details yet. Just want to wing it with maximum flexibility
