looking to buy a new camera. Travelling in South America at the end of this year for 6 months and looking for something I can get real quality from.
I am torn between something that is discreet and something that feels like a real camera. I have always had an Olympus and never had any problems with them so favour this brand.
This seems to be the best deal I found ...
£280 for above camera with 1gb xd card, leather case and batteries with charger.
Deal was with pixmania (apologies if I shouldn't say that).
Reading through the forums it seems I will be able to go and download the pictures to cd easily enough which is comforting. What I wanted to ask was;
1. will someone in a camera shop do this for you?,
2. will you have to go to an internet cafe and load the software yourself and do it?
Many thanks in advance,
It depends on what you want to do with the photos. Are you just putting them on CD to sotre them somewhere that isn't your camera?
If this is the case, the best bet is to get an account with www.flickr.com or photobucket.com or another photo hosting site. If you get a blog on travellerspoint or another blog site then you can store your photos between these sites. The best photos you can use for your blog and any others that you want off your camera but don't want to get rid of them totally can be stored on flickr/photobucket/whatever.
These photo sites basically allow you to hook your usb cable from your camera into any computer (as long as it has USB function) and upload photos onto your own "space". You can provide links, hyperlinks etc from your blog page, or just direct close friends to these accounts.
Finally, these accounts do not cost anything, all you need to do is register with an email address.
wow, cheers for the help there.
I can hardly beleive you get these services for free. Happy days ....
I am gonna slowly but surely pull myself into this generation!
