elliebelly has indicated that this thread is about Australia

argg im at my wits end.

a friend has managed to get me direct flights to sydney in june for a good price, however the price wil go up every week or so untill i book. im supposed to be going for a month to stay with my boyfriend(from aus) but my ex husband is refusing to release my money to me and if i go ahead and book the flights with the money i have i risk not getting any spending money together in time.
anyway the real question is how much money in pounds would i need for a months trip, relaxing not doing anything too expensive?

I'm sure you will get there!-i bet if he knows you need the money he'll be even more of a bugger and try and keep hold of it for longer!

I came to sydney last october and stayed for 3 weeks but i spent a couple thousand, but i travelled and went out everynight, had my accomodation/trip costs etc.

The food is soooo cheap out here...you can get a main meal for 3 pounds, accomodation-obviously your staying with you b/f. Ummm...if your not really ging to be doing too much of the touristy thing then you wont need too much, just bus/train fares and food money and a bit for buying bits (i would say the clothing is pretty much the same cost as in the uk).

If - as I presume - your boyfriend is letting you stay with him for free, just book the flight and go with as much money as you can find.
You will be able to eatand travel around by bus and train quite cheaply, and sunbathing is free.
You can always treat it as a reconnaisance for the next trip when you've made your ex pay up!

i say just go for it. If your ex knows you want money to go and see your bf hes going to keep hold of it as long as possible. Go for it

Go for it.
Chance of a lifetime.
Who knows you might go out there and not want to ever come back.... so let him have your money! He won't be happy
