Hi Folks,

I will be cycling from Seattle to San Fransico in April (starting 1st of the month). Please, if anyone has the time and inclination, could you tell me a little about what to expect on the way, what the weather will be like in April over there and any other information you think might be helpful to me. I have my bike sorted and first night's accomodation in Seattle. Would it be advisable to phone ahead each day and book the next night's stay or just go for it and find somewhere when I arrive at my destination? I will be using hostels rather than camping as I'm too lazy to carry camping stuff. This will be my first time out of the UK!

Many thanks, Jo xx

Hi Jo,
It is beginning of Springtime in the Northwest, so it should start getting very beautiful around the time you'll be here.
Weather wise it will be still a little cold - I'd say max in 50's, min in high 30's low 40's, Farenheit that is.

Regarding accomodation, not too sure about hostels, but you should be able to find places like Super8 Motel along the way - if you plan such that you are in a decent sized town around nightfall.

Hope you have a great time !

Also, make sure you pack for RAIN. It rains a lot in the Northwest.
