Travel Forums Europe Seeking Some Advice

Well i am planning a trip to Spain, not sure exactly when.. myabe next summer or the summer after. I have been to Barcelona for a few weeks then i took a very long train down to Granada. This time i thought i would visit other places.Maybe starting in Barcelona and going down the coast. I will be travelling with my mum, who has never been to spain or many places in europe. So does anyone have any suggestions on how we should make our intinerary? What places should we include? We are thinking no less then 2 weeks. But probably no more than 3. And if anyone who can suggest some cheap hotels? or possibly hostals.. my mum isn't too keen on sharing a dorm in a hostel.

Thanks so much!

Hi there!

Well as i hav posted many countless times on TP - I think anyon who goes to Spain in the summer is mad.

I have never felt worse heat in my life! Altho sayin that, Seville is a must see for anyone - its a wondeful city - I didnt care for Barcelona much but enjoyed Madrid for the musuems and Salamanca is a nice town near Madrid as well. just be warned really - it gets soo hot and there is no escape in cities like Sevilla and Madrid which are land locked.

Not so hot man... it's Scotland, that's very cold

Santeria, what about Madrid, Valencia, Cuenca, Sevilla?

And...yeah, it may be a little hot if you are not used to it. If you find it too hot, join the spanish "siesta": spend the hotest hours sleeping (air conditioning on) and then, when the sun leaves it's time for a walk. Night-life then is a must. There are lots of terraces open until late.

in south of spain during summer is hot and DRY, that's the most important. I was there in August (sevilla, cordoba, granada...LOVELY CITIES) and I don't have bad memories about the hot. Obviously I come from a Mediterranean country, I'm used to temperatures which reach 40 degrees during summer..and I find it normal..
when I lived in England there was a summer particularly hot: the temperature in the south west reached 30 degrees (in London something more)for a week (during the remaining period there were about 23/25degrees): well , I though, finally summer has come! but my english friends were complaining for the extraordinary[sunny! ] season!!!!!!!!
so...everything depends on points of view!;)
