Heyyyy!!!Ok this is a bit of a random one.....so i live with a bunch of skanky people who dont rinse the bath out after they have used it so you can imagine the delights you sometimes encounter...plus theres a seriously hairy girl who lives upstairs...ewww... anyway Ive gone off the point....so this problemo keeps arrising and as a result the bath has become totally blocked...normally I would call the landlord but typical hes gone away for the next week, the guy who lives with us who is quite handy with the old DIY isnt around so Im lumbered with the totally blocked plug hole that she has left, a foot of water and I just want to wash my hair!!!Dont want to call a plumber out...£60 call out charge and Im not paying for that!!!Is there anything I can put down there or any way I can deal with the blockage????some of you must know how to deal with this kind of household dilemma?!?!?
Pour baking soda, vinegar and boiling water down the pipe.
mr muscle sink and plug hole unblocker
did the trick for me and my skanks
You might want to empty the swan's neck unbeneath the plughole. Just take a bucket, put your household gloves on, stick a clamp on your nose and remove the hairy filth from King Kong's second cousin.
bath's don't have swan-necks. try the baking soda & 5 min of hot water first, if that doesn't work try Draino or Liquid Plumber.
First, pout your lips so they make an "O" shape. Then, take a big breath and then blow all the air out of your lungs. Next, kneel down confortably in the bathtub and close your eyes...
Might want to have a shot of something first.
You can buy a gas canaster (aerosol type) that will blow the blockage through the system.
Buy a plunger for a couple of quid, or a set of drain rods (ones for unblocking sinks, the thin ones that look like a coiled band of steel with a spring ball on the end).
Or you could take the U-bend off the bath and clear it that way.
Failing that i'll unblock it for you but it'll cost a few flights to sunny places and alcohol allowance
Hey thanks so much guys!!!The hot water and baking soda totally did the trick!!!It must have somehow broken down the crap that was down there!!!Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was going to recommend turpentine and a lighter; glad you got it sorted.
Was watching a re-run of "the young ones", (I know very dated now but still a goos laugh).
Vivian, reminded me of the best method of removing blockages from the bath/sink:
1 - You stick a hippies(neil) head through it.
2 - You kick the crap out of it with your steel-toed doc's
3 - All else fails blow it up
