Hi, I'm trying to get from Anranya Prathet to Trat in order to get to Ko Chang. Do you know if there are direct busses from there or is it necessary to go back to Bangkok? I'd like to make the journey in as short a period of time as possible. Any advice would be great.

Also, any recommendations on guesthouses in Siem Reap?

Thanx a million.

I have not done this route; Aranyaprathet-Trat, but the bus system in Thailand is pretty extensive. I am sure you can take a local bus south towards Trat and do it in stages, if not direct.

I don't know if this is any help or not but there are bus runs between Pattaya and Trat. There also is a Pattaya - Aranya Prathet bus run too!. Perhaps there is some place that they cross paths. In any event Pattaya is a cheaper place to stay at than Bangkok.

The Aranya Prathet bus run leaves and returns to the same bus terminal in Pattaya that the Ekamai bus stops at (think it is on Third Road, don't have my Pat map available.) The Trat bus makes a stop in front of the Sukhumvit Airdrome Bus Terminal - but only on the road! The ticket is purchased on the bus not in the terminal.

I used the Golden Angor Hotel in Siem Reap about 4 or 5 years ago. Not to be confused with the NEW Golden Angor Hotel. Price should still be under $15.

Good luck.
