Sigge has indicated that this thread is about Costa Rica

Hi,
I am planning to go to CR in Oct and would like to live beach-life for two weeks and travel around for two weeks. But now I am hesitating since it still is the wet season in Oct. How much does it rain and which coast would be best for the beach-life-thing? Another country in Latin America better for beach-life in Oct?

Thanks for any comments!

Rainy season, rains more frequently
on the Caribbean Side The Pacific Ocean side usually is sunny every morning and early afternoon with rains generally in early evening or at night, just about every day, unless there is a temporal or storm coming in from the ocean, where it will rain constantly a day or two, more common on Carribbean side. On the Pacific side the dry season generally begins early November and goes into early May.

Excuse me for my poor english...

well, in the caribean coast its rainny season almost all year but some people says that in september and october there is like 4 weeks of sunny weather. When in the central valley is sunny in the caribean is wet and viceversa.

I can say that in Costa Rica there are like 4 kinds of beaches (turistics, dessertic, with forest and without forest) there are the beaches of guanacaste like Flamingo, Tamarindo, El coco, Conchal there is a dry zone, no forest and a lot of turistic places and hotels, the beaches are really near so u can drive like 15 min in a 4x4 and see diferent beaches with different caracteristics.
Puntarenas. There is montezuma a nice beach where u can go and chill out, smoke some and have good times. There is a lot of vegetation near the beach and near the hotels...
Jaco, its ok if you want a nice turistic beach near of san jose.
South zone, u can go and see the beaches in their natural state, with lots of amazing forests and a rainy weather. There is not a lot of hotels but u surely can find nice ones and expensive ones.
Caribean Coast (puerto viejo, cahuita, etc) In the caribean coast is where a lot of of black people poblation live so livestyle and food are a little different. And is something like montezuma, a place where u can go and relax, walk in forests near the beach, snorkeling, and practice some good surf.
