I dont know what it is about this world trip, but I have met so many old people. Now I have nothing against older people at all, I often find their stories and tips very helpful...but I have to say that I have got to THAT age where old men make passes at me!!!

Its quite grim really....these guys have all been older than my father, okay they may have a fluid income and may have lots of time on their hands....but every single one of them have been overweight, hairy, shorter than me, varicous veiny legs, bulbous purple/red noses, hair growing out of their ears, and comb overs!!!

Okay yeah, some women my age might be attracted to this....but not me. I look back and think, what did I do? How did it go from an innocent conversation to will I have sex with them, or an affair....?

I have vowed now not to speak to any man travelling alone over the age of 45 yrs old now....Im sorry if you're not all sex vultures... but this trend has to stop.

Where are the virile, tall, younger men...? 28+ will suit me fine

HA HA.....POOR YOU....I THINK YOU'VE GOT TO THAT AGE WHERE YOU START PUTTING OUT THE WRONG VIBES WITHOUT KNOWING IT....YOU NEED TO STOP WEARING POP SOCKS AND HANGING ROUND BOWLING GREENS......LOL.....NEVER MIND...
GOOD LUCK ON YOUR MAN HUNT....

How you doin', baby...

Actually, I'm neither tall nor younger (well, a little younger than you - by a year). I'm probably not all that virile either.

I think the tall, virile, young men are playing basketball in the USA right now.

hmmm.....

It's no wonder I can't find a decent woman in my own country (England, Australia, whats the difference?) Just out of interest my girlfriend is Colombian!!

Well for years I struggled on the dating scene here in australia but never quite knew the reasons why.

I'm 5"6, hairy, completely shaven head bald (no combovers here baby), used to be a little overweight (not beer-gut like though, and since a year a go I have shed the kilos), and I pluck the hairs off my ears and brows. I would also consider myself virile and don't have a varicous vein on me. To top it all off I am 32 years old.

Thank goodness I have the knowledge travel on my own and I went to South America last year I'm going back this year to live for a little while longer over there and spend some time with my girlfriend thank you very much!

I see the humour in your post though

Good luck in finding Mr Right ;)

Sorry for the double post.

I gather these are aussie men you're talking about since I read another post in the australia/New Zealand section where you say you are currently in Australia??

Aha.... It's all making sense now

hEYYY!I give these guys credit for their persistence though...I was in Paris a couple of weeks ago and me and my mate went into this teeny tiny restaurant, the waiter saw the idea of two young english girls strolling in somewhat of a novelty and came to join us as we had our meal....the guy was actually around 65...old enough to be my grandad...at first i thought it was kinda sweet and that he was just up for chatting...then the time came when we went to leave, started harrassing me to go out to a "disco" with him the follwing evening?!?!?Final straw came when he grabbed my elbow!!!Running like the wind with his number in my hand, away I went!!But somehow this guy must have thought I was up for the action!!!Gross, but at the same time, maybe when Im 65 Ill be chasing after young men and still going out partying!!!

It's not just old men which are gross, it's groups of men of any age who collectively lech at you and comment when you walk past! Happened this morning when i was walking through the hotel foyer and i felt intimidated, offended and pissed off!!
Men don't seem to get any better as they get older - don't regularly see groups of 70 year old nannas perving on younger lads do you! It's not fair!

That's hilarious. He was 65 and wanted to go to a disco with you! Maybe he saw a twinkle in your eye

I tell you, wish Id taken a photo of this guy, he was a corker!!!He had these smart little tan coloured loafers on and his hair all slicked back, there was something about his clothes and the phrase "come with me to the discotheque" which made me laugh sooooo much!!!

Although it's becoming more common, my boyfriend (bless!) is getting annoyed with 40 plus women trying to come onto him. he's 30 next month (but only looks about 26), so it's beginning to really disturb him. I've seen them look at him, it's like they are undressing him with their eyes, with an 'I'll eat you alive' sort of look in their eyes!

Me however, I just attract random weirdos when we're away. Sit me in a bar and I can guarantee that a weirdo will make his way over and start talking to me AND...they are mostly men over 50! My boyfriend is constantly amazed at how weirdos make a beeline for me. I must have an invisible sign above my head!

Twinkle, weren't you even interested to go to the 'discotheque' to see how he'd have been. You could've had a great laugh watching him dance!
