Hello, Im travelling to Thailand in August and dont want to spend all my time on the beach, but would like to visit one relaxing place towards the end of my trip. Ive read that isalnd such as Ko Phi Phi are not great weather-wise at this time of year, but ko samui looks too tourity etc. i was thinking maybe koh chang, but dont know much about it. It would be great if people could give me their opinion of the most beautiful, best weather island for this time. Thank you.:)

Hello
For the best island in August... You've heard it right about Koh Phi Phi, it's not good traveling in that time of the year as it's rainy season.

The islands on the gulf side should be your answer:
Have you ever thought of Koh Pha-ngan? Yes it's the same island that has Fullmoon party, but if you look for relaxing holidays, avoid the fullmoon beach. Or go there 1 week before of after the fullmoon.

And you can go to the beach called "Thong nai pan noi"; it's good, relaxing and I thikn you will like it. I've been there before and I loved it. But if you like to do some snorkeling or diving, I think Koh Tao or Koh Nang yuan. One of the best spots in Thailand.

But if you want to go to east coast of Thailand; Koh Chang is a bit too much of tourists too, I recommend Koh Kood or Koh Mak, it's more relaxing and less people.

If you want more information, just let me know!
