Hi there are these 2 places i would like to visit in the Picardie region in France, Chateau de Coucy and Pierrefonds. Is it possible to do it in a day trip from Paris?
Are there any public transport to these 2 places, as i would like to keep the costs low
I don't know about public transport but if you're up for it, you could always hitchhike.
This is quite weird.
I made a detailed answer this morning, but must have forgotten to submit my message, as I do not see it now.
I could not find train connections to either Coucy or Pierrefonds.
Coucy is quite far from both Paris (200km) and Pierrefonds (140km) and I think it would be difficult to visit both on the same day.
Pierrefonds is 90km from Paris but can be reached rather easily using the A1 highway.
In te vicinity, there is the castle of Veys which you could visit in the same day.
If you are interested in medieval castles, I would advise you to pay a visit to the town of Provins. It is reachable by suburban train (1h30 trip) and has a good number of interesting medieval buildings. It is a Unesco World Heritage site.
Other medival castles near Paris include Vincennes, Blandy les Tours, Dourdan, and the Chateau de la Madeleine.
