Does anyone have advice on going from Thailand to South Korea without flying?
I have heard there's a road connecting Thailand, Burma, and China. Wonder if anyone's got advice.
And, from where would I get a boat from the mainland to South Korea?
The other way I'd consider getting from Thailand to China is by sea. Any ideas?
Thanks for your time and attention, Troy.
There are two major ports in South Korea, and the most likely one to get to by boat is Busan (sometimes also spelled "Pusan"). It is at the southernmost tip of South Korea, and is a major trade center because of it ports. As for getting to Pusan, I have no idea. I know that there is a ferry ride that connects Pusan to Japan, but I have no idea if there are any other trips to other countries. I think that walking to South Korea would be very difficult, seeing as it would need to go through communist North Korea, which tighly controlls its borders.
If you're interested in saving money on a flight, I wouldn't worry too much, because I've heard that a flight between South Korea and Thailand is very inexpensive - a boat ride would probably be comparable, since it is a long way.
Hope that helps a bit,
Lemme know if there's anything else I can help with.
I think the route from Thailand, Laos and then China would be more possible for you to make it to China safely...
Only my opinion though...Good luck!
