Travel Forums Introductions Hello from Belgium !

Hello !

I discovered this forum when I was looking for information about Australia (where I might go to this summer), but I found I could help some of you in return :-).
I'm from Belgium, as the title of this thread says, but I've spent a year in France, and numerous holidays all around Europe, and one in Chicago (Il.)/Michigan, so I'll be checking from time to time if I can help someone with my precious (hmm hmm) advice about these areas.

As I said, I might go to Australia this summer. It's very tempting (and the more I read about it, the more I'm excited to go there), but I don't know yet if we (my boyfriend and I) will be able to dispose of a large enough budget.

Anyway, I already found some very helpful information, so I'll be sticking around for a while, I think ! :-)

Hi Anne, welcome to Travellerspoint!

One year in France? Which part in France you'd been going to?
And, ope you do have an exciting holiday trip to Australia!

Cheers,
Lee

Thank you Lee ! :)

I was an exchange student in Tours (at the Loire Valley with all the "chateaux" (castels)), which allowed me to see a lot of the region : the coast, the castels and the nice little towns in the valley. I had already seen a lot of Southern France, so I was glad to discover this new, beautiful area.
I also spent a lot of time in Brittany, since that's where the family of my boyfriend lives.

Hi Anne

Its interesting coming thorugh this thread coz my wife and I are thinking of back packing around europe for 6 - 7 weeks in September before we head back home in Australia. We will coming from the UK and our first point will be Calais and then to Paris. From Paris to Bordeaux. From our research, to drive, its about 184 miles from Calais to Paris and its about 367 miles from Paris to Boudeaux. Do you think we could actually get a train or bus instead of driving.

Other places that we have in mind in France will be Biarritz, Toulouse, Marseille. From Marseille, we're thinking of Geneva in Switzerland. Any suggestion on cheap accomodation and transport method?

As for Australia, it depends greatly on what you both want to do. Send me a PM and well take it from there.

Cheers
