Quoting maba

Helene912,
I'd say give the van back sooner and use the money saved for a room / apartment somewhere central. You will find getting around in Sydney CBD & environs is much easier by walking and taking public transport (includes the ferries).

Yeah true. It'd be IMPOSSIBLE to park a campervan in the middle of the Sydney CBD. Better off ditching it early and catching a train in

Myo,
Its a reality, but like all freebies it has its limitations. Standard rules apply - leave only footprints, take only photos & memories.
From Point Plomer - just north (car ferry) of Port Macquarie right up to about Byron Bay - there are a lot of secluded spots that you will find if you look. You'll do a few extra km's following that elusive track.

You'll find most schools, sports fields and golf courses have nice grassy spots where you can park pretty close, roll out a swag on dark and move on at sunup.

Out of the way beach carparks (i.e not the main beach) can be pretty good too if you are unobtrusive and do the right thing - i.e arrive late, leave early, leave it better than you found it.

remember the mozzie repellant,
Rosco.
