Sam I AM - Is there any recourse available to me with the Danish Government? What kind of documentation could I provide? Would they respond any faster if I had more information about a Danish Better Business Bureau like we have here in the US?

THanks for your help.

Well, I don't think the Danish one would be much help considering this is Norway :) But the Norwegian one can be accessed here. As I mentioned before, the whole thing seems complicated in it's set up, in the kind of way that it's hard to figure out where this guy actually lives/works. If the company is really owned by a foreign company, then it gets even harder. The guy's name sounds Swedish by the way; certain letters in his name don't occur in Norwegian.

Naturally (if he doesn't deliver) this is just as illegal in Norway as it would be in any other country in the world. The problem is actually getting to the guy behind it, just like with pyramide schemes and other scams. You might also consider finding out where his site is hosted and getting it closed down by your lawyer.

I made it to the England paraguay game. I had been to the opening game the day before and found that the security concerns re. names on tickets to be unfounded i.e. nobody checked anything given the sheer volume of people getting in. For that game my ticket had my own name on so it was not a concern rather a test to see if the security would result in the England tickets being unusable.

For the England game it was the same. There are electronic ticket readers which test to see if the ticket is genuine and not fake. It does not test who is the ticket owner. My concern for that was that if the people at the ticket agency had subsequently retransfered my ticket to someone else rendering mine invalid, but everything was OK and I got in.

I think that the bottom line is that if you get your hands on one it is OK but they may hang on to the last minute to see if they can get a better price before sending out given that the name on tickets bit is not that big a deal.

I have talked to a few others that never had any problems related to who's name was on the ticket- this is very encouraging. I had several conversations with Globalticketservice.com over the phone, one of which stating that the tickets I had purchased were "non-supporter", meaning that there was no name on the ticket anyhow. So either way, I feel a bit better.

I did recieve a response from DHL, and to my surprise they WILL ship packages from EU to the US/Canada, but they WILL NOT ship tickets from EU to the US/Canada.

Here is my request to DHL support:

Hello, I was told by a Norwegian ticket supplier that US Customs will not allow packages originating from Europe to be sent to the United States through DHL. Does DHL have any customs issues shipping from Norway to the United States? The package contents are tickets to a world cup match.

Here is the response:

Dear Mr. DeBerry,

It is not that DHL will not accept shipments from Nowray into the United States. It is that DHL will not accept tickets for shipment into the United States. DHL will not accept due to them being able to be used by anyone, we won't accept them. Think of it like sending a blank check that is signed. Anyone can put there name and amount on it.

I am going to try and sort out having them sent to where we are staying while in Europe; or possibly using UPS. Will post here when I find out more.

Well, I have the same experiences.

The 12 of sep last year I ordered 3 tickets for Sweden - England.
I used my Visa, and the total for theese tickets are 1000 EURO.
They claimed that the tickets would arrive 2 weeks before the event.

So, we had many months to plan our trip. Did book flight to Köln and back + hotel. 800 EURO for the flight - can't cancel it either.

I've called GlobalTicketService many times, when the tickets didn't arrive as they told me. They said - "We will send it next week... the next day..." and so on. Finally, I recevied an e-mail where they told me that my orders is cancelled. 1,5 week before the event!!! Well, they did have 8-9 months to tell me that!!!

After this I called them again. Then they told me that the tickets would be sent in 1 or 2 days. I told him about the e-mail I recieved... well, he gave me another number to call.

Then I checked other orders for the game. (just to change ID in the tracking page). Then I saw that other persons that ordered about a month after me, did get their tickets.

Once again I called GTS and wondered how this is possible?
The answer - "it doens't matter if you was the first one to order. We send the tickets by random."
WHAT? FIRST YOU bill my Visa-card, and then send the tickets by random???. And NOTHING about this is told in their terms and conditions.

DO NOT USE GlobalTicketService!!!!

There has been some interest in starting a classaction lawsuit against GTS. However, we need a few more people to do this. I can not justify paying the legal bills (around 200 Euros per hou) by myself and apparently it's against Norway's law to accept a case on consignment. If anyone is interested in pursuing these rip-off artists, please reply to this thread or contact me directly.

For all of us who have been ripped off by globalticketservice.com, I think we truly should start a class action lawsuit against them, as Beh suggested.
This fake and deceiving "company" is still selling tickets to the soccer WC (as well as for other different events) on their website. They even have a "hotline" for those tickets.
They need to be stopped.
Please see, below, my unfortunate experience with GTS.

Hi, Beh,
I just read your email dated June 8, 2006, and I, too, am interested in starting a class action lawsuit against globalticketservice.com.

On May 18, 2006, I bought 2 tickets to "The Who" concert to be held in Berlin, Germany, on July 12, 2006. Since I need to change the address where the tickets should be delivered, I emailed GTS 4 times. Nevertheless, I have not had any reply from them.

As of today, I have not received the tickets and, according to their website, my "order has been executed" and the tickets were mailed to my address on June 5, 2006. Twenty-one days have passed since they, suppposedly, mailed the tickets; however, they have not arrived to my house. Neither via courier (service for which I paid 30 EUR) nor via regular airmail.

I have called them more than 15 times, but had no luck in being able to speak to someone. The answering machine always picks up.

The tickets are for my brother-in-law, who is already in Germany, and can pick up the tickets from one of GTS's offices in Germany. However, after reading the emails about different people's bad experiences with this fraudulent company, I doubt that GTS even has an office in Germany.

Were your tickets ever mailed to you? Or, were you able to pick them up, somewhere? If not, were you refunded the amount that you paid for the tickets?

I'd appreciate a reply from you, and would like to tell you that I am serious about starting a lawsuit against this company.

Thank you.

P.S. I forgot to mention that today I called GTS, again, within their "business" hours, and not even the answering machine picked up. After 20 something rings, the call just got disconnected...

My World Cup tickets never arrived and although my money was refunded by my credit card company my hotel and travel from the UK was not. What I can't understand is why the Credit Card companies still let them use their facilities surely I am not the only one who has got his money back from the CC

I also bought already october 2008 tickets for ACDC next week in Munich - as a friend of mine did too - 8 tickets for € 140,- per ticket - until now we didn't received anything - our CC were charged - nobody is responding at the tel - no answer on any e-mail...

F*CK

@ALL: On our CC was written that ticketbande.de charged us for the Tickets - they told me on the tel that GTS is using the same CC-system so their name is written on it...

Do I have any possibility to get at least my money back if they are not sending the tickets?!

Thanks for you help!

Martin
