Im going to Italy this summer. I plan to take my laptop with me to download pictures. I heard that their was a special fee or tax to bo bring my laptop in to the country. Is that true? How much is it? where can I find more details on this?

Bullocks as far as I know. That'd be REALLY weird if it was so (it'd have to be an EU thing then too)!

It's a different thing if you are Italian and buying a laptop overseas and then taking it back home. That might incur some duty taxes, but I doubt that is the case here...

No thats completely not true...but bring a good voltage adapter or it could fry your comp.

Tax is only payable on new computers beingtaken into the european union. The amount of import duty varies between countries.
But this doesn't apply to you.
enjoy your trip and don't forget to check that your laptop is on your insurance & you have a euro plug adaptor, and it's a good idea to make a back-up of the hard drive before you leave just in case.
