Tofu is rubbish. It's like eating a slimy cube of sawdust.

What's the big deal about it? Tell me what I'm missing?

Eating tofu is like eating a piece of sponge. Just thinking about the texture... blech.

Went on a 7 day package holiday to Marrakesh back in 1975.
Having my lunch in hotel and waiter brought some crumbed dish.
Cut a slice and was chewing it when I looked down and saw the obvious shape and colour of a brain inside the crumbed coating.
Sheeps brain did NOT go down, and I filled the napkin at the speed of sound.

I've eaten a small chunk of whale blubber. It was awful. The more I chewed, the bigger it seemed to grow in my mouth until I felt like I had twice the original amount! I gulped it down but I thought I was going to be sick afterwards. It just sat in my stomach.

I dare anybody who goes to Dresden (Germany) to order "Wasserkaninchen", ie "Water rabbit" or "Marsh Rabbit".

It is Ondatra zibethica in latin. And also served in the US on occasion.

That was my experience with octopus the first (and only) time - it seemed to be ever-expanding. I didn't care for the taste either.

In Malaysia I ate some disgusting meat that I found out - half way through - was civet cat.

Was slightly more suspicious of offered meats after that, especially after later seeing somebody skinning a monkey outside a longhouse. Not something I would want to later find on my plate...

Nastiest craziest thing I've ever eaten was "Balut" in Manila, Phillipines. Here is a pic of me getting ready to eat balut
