Hi can any one help me with this? Just back from Oz east coast and decided to tackle Africa next. None of my friend have been and finding it hard to get info. Seen some brochures / sites offering overland tours from Cape Town to Egypt. Has anyone done one of thse are are they any good? If any one has any tips that would be appreciated. Thanks
Try http://www.nomadtours.co.za/cape_to_kenya_camping.html it is half the way to Cairo!
This company is nice... I met those guys in Victoria Falls 2 yrs ago...
Hey, I'm planning to do such an overland in 2007. I've been comparing quit a lot and to me the 2 best (price~quality) are : www.footprint-adventures.co.uk and www.oasisoverland.co.uk. Both starting in Cairo and ending in CT, same duration and same price (only a few organ. do the opposite itinary and are mostly more expensive). Differences : with Oasis you have the possibility to add a roundtrip of SA (= 102 days) and Footprint is associated to the Travel Trust Company which is more secure.... There are mostly but 2 departing periods a year : may and november. From Nairoby, there almost every month departing dates....
Greetz and have a nice trip!
Perhaps the Cape Town tourism office can also help.
