Im going to Europe in May for 4 and half months, i am an Aussie but also carry Polish Citizenship and will be staying with family in Poland and other family around Europe.
So straight to the point, i wont have to pay much for accomadation but i'll be taking around $12,000 AU (£4800) with me and want to see Europe still, is it to much or just right??? i havent been to europe since i was a kid, everything is to different now to compare.
Can anyone give me an insight? maybe they have been in a similar situation?
Thanks for all your help, always appreciated
if i don't have done errors, you should have approx 52 euros per day.
I think it could be enough, considering that you don't have to pay for accomodation. Poland f. e. it's not expensive like other european country.Eastern Europe in general is less expensive than western eu. Your expenses will depend on what country are you going to visit....
I think that it is enough by a good margin.
Germany uses 45 EUR/day (77 AU$/day) as a basic reference when issuing visas to see whether a tourist has enough funds to travel in Germany.
Since Poland is significantly cheaper and you don't have to pay for acco, you will be living like a king.
Just make sure you got everything arranged in terms of travel (pre-booked cheap flights, pre-booked cheap rail tickets, Eurail passes, etc.) and you will be more than fine.
Thanks for your help so far everybody, in terms of pre-booked transport, i have all expenses arranged for me to get to europe and back out of europe.
I will use trains probably the most as i know that they arent that expensive in eastern europe. Flights are also cheap but i will most probably have a car to use now and then to get to close places.:-)
The only places i know i will have to pay accomodation plus other expenses will be Holland, Germany, Croatia, Austria, Greece. But i should be fine, its not a good feeling when your nearing your last hundred of dollars and its not time to go home yet, lol..
