Right... here goes..

im puttin it down so its outta my head!!

Im torn between either india or thailand/indochina! initially i was gonna do them both, but i'm thinkin to just concentrate on one as im tryin to stick within a budget!

To be honest, im intially put off with the visa price of cambodia.. but i know thats a ridiculous reason.. but really wanna see the beaches of both thailand and india... which is generally cheaper? for food/board/activities etc..!

I.e which is best value for money.. wot i want to get out of it, is really just experiencing culture, exploring.. (really wanna go to nepal too).. relaxin on beaches, possibly go bungie jumping!

to be honest my plans had been to incude them both, but the friends i were gonna meet up with live in chennai.. and its right on the opposite corner of the country to rajastan! Also to throw another spanner into the works.. one of my friends who has been livin in singapore for the last three years.. is now scoutin out a job in canada.. so he mite not even be in singapore wen i go (june/july or july/august) hence why i was goin to thailand.. :o(

i know ive mumbled on but i think ive made sense hehe "eek"

any advice, help on these two places wud be greatly appreciated!!

Sell india or thailand to me, make me wanna go!!

Cheers very very very much

Andy:)

hahaha...
I'm Thai...I love my country and I am sure there are plenty of things to do and to see here in Thailand.
But I just want to go to Nepal+India myself...Rajastan/Sikkim sounds good.
It's quite hard to convince you to choose either one. Let's say this..
Thailand is best for beaches and India/Nepal for mounts. Which one you like to experience? For me, I vote for Thailand... ;)

Personally id say two months isnt long enough for either, more so india if youre planning on seeing a lot of the country.
About the footie youre best bets thailand, cambodia and vietnam they show it everywhere and some places have a great atmosphere, was in Gullivers Travells Koh san road watching an England Qualifier a couple of months ago and the bar was packed, like watching it back home, and even the smallest place has a t.v showing the premiership of a weekend when i was around there recently.
Hope that helps.
C'mon England!

youl have no probs in thailand with football, theyre quite mad about form what i saw. i did all of thailand and cambodia in 3 months, and felt like that was just enough time. didn't feel rushed at all. 2 months for thai/cam/vietnam might be a bit much unless you fly. i took trains and buses to see everything. flights are pretty cheap. i dont know where your getting ur cambodian visa from, but at the border i paid 1000B and got it in an hour..not too bad really.

You can do both India and Thailand in your time frame if you want. Or you can do Cambodia and Thailand in that time frame.

If you are put off by the fee to visit Cambodia keep in mind that you will save on the transportation costs between Thailand and Cambodia vs Thai - India. The transportation is cheaper between Cambodia and Thai and you can choose to go by van, bus, air or even by train part of the way.

Thailand has well organized transportation services, lots of good cheap hotels, good beaches and if you like nightlife there are places for that too, or you can avoid most of it. Up to you!

Keep in mind that when you enter Thailand you will get a free 30 day entry permit. After you leave Thailand for another country and return to Thailand you will be given another 30 days free, the clock starts all over. Flights to Bangkok are often reduced in price, you can start there, go to Cambodia and return to Thailand for your return back home.

route --> thailand/cambodia/vietnam/Laos/Thailand

I've now booked my flight.. ive got a return into bangkok , flyin in middle of june and out middle of august!! Being able to watch the word cup there has swung it for me! but india next year, mark my words!! ;)

My intial planned route is to head straight for cambodia, and do angkor etc.. do u think there will be any problems wit gettin hold of visas on the border? (are there any tours leading from bangkok to angkor?) or am i wimping out by doing that? Should i go it alone?

In regards to gettin visas (i.e. vietnam? laos?) should i get mine in bangkok before setting off? if so where do i get them from?

Sorry to bombard ppls with questions!

Cheers for all your help though!!
