i know this is a travel site, but does anyone know if you can get a paper cut from folded paper, dunno how it came up, but it was a topic of conversation in the pub last night. I dont reckon you can get a cut from folded paper, but my friend reckons its possible. what does everyone else think?
I don't think you can.. it's the fact that it's so thin that you get a cut. Of course, the easiest way to find out is to fold some paper and give it a shot!!
I've been trying at it for hours and still no cuts!
anyway. I don't think you can, it is like Peter said the fact that it is so thin rigid that causes the cuts.
If you use extra thin paper it might be possible though theoretically right?
I cut my tongue pretty nastily the other day on an envelope. That should teach me to use 'snail mail'
Good post.... doesn't get much more off topic than this....
Depends on how tightly the paper is folded and how thin it is.
Did you know that a regular piece of paper can cut a pickle in half? Granted it doesn't get too soggy...
Mentioning wierd paper facts. I was just off browsing around the amazing internet and realized that it is impossible to pull(grab two ends and pull only) a piece of paper apart... You can only do it by tearing it. So the internet tells me anyways, I am going to try it.
Peter if you read this thread, I am at work right now
You were asking about our productivity here in the US?
Talk about being productive! I just pulled a piece of paper apart without tearing it!! Maybe I'm just amazing but my guess is that anyone can do it and that website imonaghan found has bum info.
Funny how we get most visits when everyone should be at work actually I guess if you're not given enough time off (personally I think people should only work 3 days a week!), you just take the time in little bits and pieces while 'working'
well first off, i have been drinking for a little bit so my info may bee invalid to most. But anyway, I have been trying to give my self a real paper cut (single sheet) and I still can't get one. Explain that? Anyone daring enough to try go ahead.
So i tried a folded paper cut and that also failed. So naturely I have lost faith any deduction. Someone needs to seriously experiment this idea.
I'm now at work trying to give myself a paper cut - how insane I would say to the 'folded paper cut' question - No. I very much doubt the paper is sharp enough to do that. Although as Tomahawk says - unless your not trying that is and then it just might happen
