In July I will be traveling to several places in China. I was wondering about booking airfare. I tried one place, they recommended I book it when I get there that price will probably be cheaper.
I don't want to over pay. When should I book air? If I wait, I am afraid I won't be able to get tickets where and when I need them.
I have also read on the web that China flights are often changed at the last minute. Are there that many changes where it makes it hard to get where you want to go?
When I was in China 2 years ago you paid a departure tax at each airport. Is that still the current plan?
I have found elong.net to book China airfare from the USA. Anyone recommend other sites on the web?
Thanks, I appreaciate any help. Paula
Departure tax at each airport in China is covered by the air fare now. You can get tickets at any time if you are going to travel between big cities. Policy for air fare is deferent from time to time. It is really hard to say when and where is the best time to book. -snip-
[ Edit: sorry, no promos / emails in the forum please. ]
According to my experience, the flights are not often changed and i think the situation is even better than that of some flights in US.
I think you can try ctrip to book tickets.http://english.ctrip.com/
Usually you can get discount tickets if you book tickets in advance, but it really depends on what cities you travel and whether it is peak season. Booking ticket a month ahead of time is good enough.
Wish you a pleasant trip in China!
Thanks so much for the information. I will check ctrip.com.
