I am travelling to London and Scotland in Apr this year with kids. Originally theatres and plays, etc were not in my plan but on searching on the internet, I find that one should see some plays while in UK.
We are hard pressed for time, 3 days in London and 12 days overall in UK, so where should I look for the best plays esp for kids? Will Edindurgh be better in late April for plays and which companies/ actors etc should I look for?
The theatre in London is great and especially for the kids. The Lion king is fantastic I am 24 and loved every minute of it. If you go to the theatre area which will be in your guide, there will be people selling tickets for that day. Go in the morning and you will get a good deal. If you go to a maintanee or a weekday performace you will save more money. www.officiallondontheatre.co.uk will give you the best guide as to whats on, but for the best prices go the the ticket vendors near the theatres. HAve a ball
How much does a night out to the theatre cost in London compared to New York? Does London have half-price day-of ticket booths like TKTS in NYC?
Its definitely worth seeing one of the musicals in the west end of london. I used to go as a child (and still go now when I can) and absolutely loved them!
There are half-price ticket booths that you can go to in Leicester Square and if you go to an afternoon matinee (thing they are usually on wed and sun?) then its even cheaper!
Anyway, have fun!
