I'm planning to get to Barcelona for the CL semifinal from Northern Italy. I'd like to know if someone know a few names of hostels or cheap hotels in central Barcelona (or a place not too far from) or at least a few links for internet sites.

Thanks a lot,

Giovanni

Try this Giovanni.

Sorry I can't give you any personal recommendations but good luck to the Rossoneri and I might bump into you in Paris for the final! :)

There are some pretty interesting offers, but i will book once i'll be sure to have the tickets

Are these websites reliable? Once i booked through Ryan Air recommended hotels service, and i had a few problems because my booking was made through an agency set in France and they delayed the payment for the hotel.

I suppose it'd be easier to contact the hotel directly, once the choice is made.

Try as well the www.mivale.com if you need a hotel around Camp Nou try "Les Corts" area or if you want to be at the city center around "Eixample" or "Barri Gotic"
Let's see who wins... heheh

On a different note, where is the best part to party? I've been in Barcelona earlier in 2003 summer, but stayed most of the time in Costa Brava and spent just a couple of nights in Barça city. I heard the new port is one of the main areas. I like to have a few drinks and clubbing till late night. I was a bit disappointed by the MareMagnum area which is a sort of commercial end of the Ramblas and a bit plastic. I'd like to know where the locals go to party all night long.

Thanks you all, and let's hope i find the tickets, which is a challenge itself..

I would recommend the one I stayed in, a youth hostel just off the Ramblas. Nice, clean, friendly and very centrally located: http://reservas.reaj.com/albergues/fichaalbergue/fichaalbergue.asp?idalbergues=175&origen=listado (get the english version clickin on the english flag!!). Hope it helps!!!!

Do you think these sites are reliable when it comes on bookings? I had a few problems when i booked an hostel in London, because i booked through Ryan Air websites and the payment i made was through an agency in France. So it caused problems with the hostel because they had no payment on their pcs, and we managed to solve this situation just until morning (we arrived by late night) when they called the agency.

In general i prefer to contact the hostel-hotel directly. But if the website is efficient and reliable i won't mind booking thought them
