Hi all. The plan is to fly singapore into bangkok and then travel overland south across thailand into malaysia. My understanding is that I have to get across the border into malaysia within 30 days of arriving. Stop turn round and go back into thailand. Can I onyl get another 30 days then or can I get more? I may want to stay 3 months in thailand, do I really need to leave and return twice?
Just an idea - if you may be staying more than 30 days would it not be worth sorting it out before you left, then you don't need to worry about it.
We went with a 2 month visa and had no problems extending it when we were there.
Sorry I can't help with the border crossing details.
from experience, myself & 2 other friends (australian & american) only got 30 days extension thru border crossing (cambodia at that time). prior that, we did go to thai immigration and found out we were able to get 15 days extension on the spot but decided to cross the border instead.
A good website for you is 'thaivisa.com'. They cover everything under the sun regarding Thailand, but has a wealth of visa info. You can get a 90 month tourist visa in the UK that you can extend for an additional 30 days while in Thailand. That should solve your visa problem.
Opps. I should of typed; tourist visa for 60 days, extend for an additional 30 days, total 90 days for UK citizen.
