Sarah,
We travelled for 10 months at the age of 36+ ! And we had our two kids with us. Granted, a few more people thought we were 'on holiday' as opposed to travelling, but that only made us feel better.
Australia and New Zealand are so geared up for travellers of every age, that you won't stand out. In fact, you're odd if you don't travel.
Don't spend a weekend thinking about it, spend it planning.

Well.....

I moved here in 2000 with a view to staying, was 32 then (you do the math :) am still here and loving it.

If you have the right credentials and are willing to work hard, then this is the place to be..... but don't forget to play hard too! Ski season nearly here!

Lots of work for teachers as they are in short supply, just make sure that you are registered with an agency before you come over as it can take a long time to sort things out.

all the best

Derek

As per the forum rules, you're not allowed to promote your website (aka the links in your "signature"). It's a pretty strict policy, but it keeps the forums really nice and clean, so personally I'm happy with it.
When a moderator sees that flagged message, the links will be snipped from it (with a note saying not to promote websites), and the rest of your post will show up again.

Thats a real shame about the links as I've been posting photos of my travels in New Zealand on the communities site for years and now it's full up!

Will try to find time to post some here.

26? Unfortunately, Yes! you're too old. Travelling is reserved for 18 to 25 year olds. You missed it by a year, I'm 35, i'm not allowed to leave my home country.

Of course you're not too old? You think we just lock old people up in their homes now?

Seriously though, I'm heading out and although I'm 23 one of my mates I'm off with turned 30 beginning of the year. And my parents go travelling all the time and their ove 50
