Okay Okay I take it back, 26 is NOT too old! Well I have told my job i'm leaving and i'm going to hop and skip my way across America and then onto New Zealand...if you see a very white Irish girl applying unnatural amounts of sunscreen & anti-ageing moisturiser then it is probably me!

If you're ever in Toronto, and need a place to stay, look me up. I like helping wayward travellers.

You know they say Toronto is the Dublin of North America.

Hey fraidycat,

just wanna say that age is only a number, so why let it be an obstacle? It's better to give it a go than to ponder 'what if' for the rest of your life.

Plus NZ's beautiful...was in South Island a few years back.

No, no, no. Jesus, no. 26 isn't too old to do anything.

But is is way too young to be doing lots of things that seem to be popular (getting full-time cube-monkey office jobs and getting hitched).

Travel for god's sake.

Mate, at 26 your best years are way behind you.

At your age you should be a bit more responsible, and be undertaking some of the more 'adult' activities in your life such as getting a mortgage and purchasing a property, perhaps getting married, establishing your career and working very hard in it to get ahead.

What bollocks. Go on 'oliday mate

26 is too YOUNG to be feeling OLD. WHY are you feeling old at 26??? That is the real question.

Well I felt old when I was 19. I was lost and confused then, felt as though I was stuck in a rut with no future. Until I started getting involved in activities that allowed me to learn and travel. I've been leaving the country religiously every summer for the last 4 years, visiting at least 2 countries. Too bad it can't be more cos of my studies. It's opened up alot of opportunities and I intend to keep things going.

So if anyone felt the same way I did, just go get yourself a good dose of travel and start living!

What a bizarre ambition!!! Travelling and working in New Zealand, when most Kiwis have emigrated to Australia.
Still, probably lots of job vacancies.
Seriously, I wish I had my 26th birthday last month, and my advice is -

DO IT!!!!

If you don't, you will find yourself in 10 years time skulling Guinness with 3 rugrats under your feet watching some turgid documentary on sheep-crutching in Dunedin and you will burst into tears.

Travel has nothing to do with age. Attitude is what counts, and sounds like you've got it.

Enjoy to the MAX

Anthony

P.S. Visit Oz while you are at it. God's own country, even with the Kiwi invasion.
