LOL cobbana. That's funny and yet true and yet I'm a bit insulted because it's true.

Fraidycat, 26 is the right age to go to NZ and Au. You'll have tons of fun and I don't think you'll have a problem with finding teaching jobs. Actually they might even offer you a permanent position. I recommend either joining an agency (like someone has said previously) or taking your documents because I have seen tons of teaching jobs around NZ and Au.

Have fun and good luck!!

Hi Sunset1999,
My post was very tongue in cheek, as per the usual matey rivalry between our two great countries, and NO insult intended.

Thanks for the message Anthony! I have to go see the lambs and mountains and hobbits before its too late and I'm chained to an impossibly high mortgage (because you have to sell your soul to a financial institution to get a house in Ireland) planning my next 2 week holiday!

I know 26 is not really too old for anything, but I'm glad i'm not the only one to sometimes be unnecessarily worried about my age. But then I look at my mates with mortgages and ties and I'm not ready to give up my freedom.

I've just decided i want to be a midwife and to go back and do another three year degree (I'll be 27 before course starts, 28 if I don't get on it until 2007). Was a bit reluctant cos it means I'll qualify and start work at 30+ on a very low wage for someone that age....

But I'd never have made the decision if I hadn't gone travelling. and so maybe I'll be at least mid-30s before owning property or starting a family or whatever, but that's the way it is. And so what?

Just don't ask me about pensions. Yeah I'll be very poor when I'm old.

26!?! That is like, sooooooooo old! You're totally over the hill man, get yourself a pair of bedroom slippers and a rocking chair, and reminisce about the what life was like when you were 25.

Do it man.
