very good question indeed, why saying that you never saw a girl in france eat fish and chips when everything closes at 3, you don't have fish and chips in france right? (or at least, not so much)
so that wouldn't be possible?

As for fish and chips at 3am.....dunno who started that, but if they really knew anything about the UK, they'd know how rare it is to get traditional fish n chips at that time.

After 2am its kebabs all round. Or those weird hotdogs from vans.

I'm a british girl and I drink too much and eat rubbish food late at night and I'm not ashamed. We like to have fun!

TO the canadian fellow who thinks he shouldnt have to pay for drinks, and the women who responded with pride that they had, i say this: Although we live in the 21st century, i choose to believe that chivalry is NOT dead. In fact, I was far more attracted to a man who offered to buy me a drink, opened doors for me, and treated me like i was something special in general. And i think that attitude is disgusting and very unattractive. Ladies, you deserve to have a drink bought for you! Having said that, i respect the fact that you buy sometimes as well, because its likewise a sign of respect and equality...it also made me feel at ease, like i didnt owe anyone anything.

Yeah, I'm with you there, Clarabell! I drink beer and eat kebabs late at night.
I do NOT become rowdy, I do NOT become obnoxious and I certainly do NOT have cat fights in the street! (Like the girls Jeff is probably refering to).
Although I have been know to get into shopping trolleys and be pushed down the high street by mates whilst being chased by the police!
I just enjoy a good laugh! Absolutely nothing wrong with that!

woah! i never imagined such a debate - but i am impressed with ur honesty about it all.

Ok maybe not so much Fish n Chips but definatly the chips part! I live in Edinburgh and after the weekend the city reeks with ketchup, brown sauce, and greasy chip bags.

Iv never seen the French have this problem...otherwise im sure they would have a protest...they love protesting.

Andrew, I'll tell you what, European girls are great, just like the women all over the globe. If there is a special "thing" that gets you going like an accent, there are plenty of them out there. No offence taken by the comment.

You do sound like you may not have too much experience abroad. I commend you for your interest in travel forums. You should continue to read as many forums and post as many questions on the Internet as you can. I would also read too, there are a lot of great books out there. You should check them all out online.

There are many different books like European Pilgrimage (do a search for backpacking Europe and check out sponsored links too), guides (Let's Go, Lonely Planet), magazines (Budget Travel), and heaps of other forms of information too.

My best advice: just get yourself there and find out for yourself :)

Cheers

That is the cutes thread I ever read.... and during my boyfriend is cleaning the bath I tell him some of this stories...we have so much fun, thank you to make our evening soo nice.

Be sure, the most of the European girls are paying their drinks (if they are over 20) because the experience is, that if a boy try to pay your drink, he tries to buy you for the night :) That is in the most heads of the girls and be sure, if you respect persons and show real interest for them (not only for woman) they will be very friendly. And the most are very interested in foreign countries and people. And who will not meet an Australian boy? Especeslly if you know how to surf? :):):)and telling stories about the fantastic Australian nature or wildlife....
