Hi people
I'm passing through Dubai in August and was wondering what I should see or do in Dubai or around Dubai!
I'm not that interested in the glitz and glamour!
And does anyone know of a nice budget hotel there?
LL

First, you have to remember that you are arriving in the hotest month of the year. If it is NOT glitz and glamour you are after, then head to the desert. Arabian Adventures (Part of the DNATA and Emirates Group) offer great safari's into the sand. Morning, aftrernoons or evening, the evening one is best as you see the sunset and they usually throw in a traditional BBQ, local Music, Dancing and a great chance to see how Dubai and the UAE really was.

Another option in the Day would be Dubai Heritage Museum and Dubai Museum, both in Deira, both inexpensive to get in and amazing to see the difference to how this place actually was less than 40 years back as to how it looks now.

Cheap accomodation, as you are hitting here at the hottest month, you also find its the cheapest, hotels are half rack rate in August. City Center Hotel is ideal, and half was from desert and the museums. Again, try www.hotels.com or can also recomend the Novotel or Accor at teh Dubai World Trade Center as a cheap alternative.

Have fun anyway!

Hey nkandsl,

To get into a job in Dubai is bit difficult. You have to be very competitive ! I assure it depends on your profession. I was being there since 5 years before I come over here in UK ! Normally people come for a job hunt in 2 months visit visa.

A place that has its own lifestyle. You canlive with anybody you want. Nobody cares abt it !
